Why C4SD is Hosting these Virtual Town Halls:
Share recent advocacy updates and practical strategies that are working for families like yours
Explain OPWDD’s annual statewide planning sessions—what they are, why they matter, and how you can take part in a way that feels right for you
Equip families with tools and confidence to influence the future of supports for people with I/DD in New York State
These meetings happen only once a year and were made possible by years of family advocacy. Whether you speak, send written input, or join to listen and support, your presence matters. With the right preparation, we hope that more of us are empowered to step forward and speak up.
Your Voice Matters
If you sign up to speak at an OPWDD strategic meeting, you’ll have up to three minutes to share your comments. That may seem short-- or really long depending on your comfort levels. Come to the town hall, you will get ideas about how to provide powerful testimony that is delivered with clarity and purpose.
And, if you are more comfortable with sending on written comments, we can also help you with that.
